The DAF Approach to Education

Who am I, who are you, who are we?

In the first year, students embark on a journey of self-discovery, learning about the fundamentals of fashion and exploring their own identity. This phase, “Who am I,” lays the groundwork for personal and creative development.

Moving into the second year, our approach shifts to “Who Are We.” Collaborative projects with industry partners, such as Fields on Menswear, Truworths on Tailoring, and as one of only 3 Fashion Schools globally collaborating with Mohair South Africa, this year asks students to define themselves within a broader context. It’s a challenging year that tests the class’s cohesion and resilience, forging strong bonds as they navigate challenges together.

Finally, in the third year, we focus on “Who Are We,” guiding students in creating a brand and collection that not only reflects their individual identity but also offers value to the world. This culmination of their journey emphasises their collective identity and impact within the fashion industry.
