Childrenswear Short Course present to Woolies

On the 30th September 2016, our Childrenswear shortcourse came to an end. We had our students present their micro ranges to a panel of Childrenwear designers from major retailer, Woolworths.

A big thank you to the Woolworths Kids design representatives – Claire, Shiyaam and Cecile, for you valuable feedback.

The idea behind this shortcourse was to create a program that subscribed to the idea of a “business in a box”. We want to equip our students with enough knowledge and contacts so they could potentially launch their own Childrenwear businesses at the end of this 10 week course. A component of the course was industry visits to local businesses surrounding the college as well as, talks from industry experts, facilitating industry relationships.

We are extremely impressed with our students and the outcome! Well done to an amazing group of hardworking ladies – who also have day jobs and kids.

We would like to say a very big thank you to  “i love screenprinting” for giving us a guided tour and demo from Gareth Ashton, Colin from Zamfos dye house and Harold at Nickleson fabrics.
